  Kuwait Dive Team reported the phenomenon of coral bleaching at Umm AlMaradim Island, Kuwait.
The team reported that the bleaching phenomenon has caused extensive damage to the coral reefs at the island of Umm Al-Maradim in the far south of the sea of Kuwait that stretches for about 23 kilometers.

Kuwait - 29-7 (KUNA) - Kuwait Dive Team finished the third stage of the process of removing waste from the coral reefs at the island of Qaruh south of the country. The official of naval operations in the Group, Walid al-Shatti, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today that members of the team estimated the weights of waste at the bottom of the water which were lifted between five to ten tons.

The Kuwait Dive Team of the Environmental Protection Society succeeded installing three marine moorings for the southern Coral Reefs in Bneida coast next to Jaber Al-Kuwait Reefs.
   
Removing Fishing Nets from Bneida Coral Reefs
 
The Kuwait Dive Team with the Environmental Protection Society succeeded in removing fishing nets stuck in the Coral Reefs in the middle of Bneida marine area. The Team’s Divers succeeded in rescuing sea creatures, as well as fish, despite the nets that extended for 200 metres stuck in Coral Reefs which were at a depth of nine metres from the surface. The nets are weighed more than half-a-ton.

Marine Operations In-Charge, Waleed Al-Shatti, stated that the Team was informed of these nets by a sea-farer who notified it regarding the existence of many sea creatures stuck in nets, in addition to the risks and dangers caused by such nets to sea navigation.
